Five Maoist rebels arrested in Jharkhand

Ranchi : The Jharkhand police Wednesday claimed to have arrested five hardcore members of an outlawed Maoist organisation.

“We have arrested five Maoist rebels of the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) from two places of Ranchi. The arrested rebels include the area commander of PLFI, Rama alias Kisnu Gope,” M.S. Bhatia, the senior superintendent of police of Ranchi, told reporters here.

Two PLFI rebels were arrested from Piska Nagari and three from Tupudana area of Ranchi.

The police seized one revolver and some Maoist literature from the rebels.

According to the police, Rama was in-charge of the Ranchi urban area. He was responsible for the expansion of the group and the arrangement of logistics for the organization in the area.
