BJP accuses Congress of ‘communal mindset’

By NNN-PTI,

New Delhi : BJP has accused the ruling Congress of suffering from “communal mindset” in dealing with terrorism in the country.

“The Congress and the government suffers from the communal mindset. It has not been able to dissociate terror and Muslim religion. Congress is trying its bid to give a religious colour to the acts of terror,” party Chief Rajnath Singh told PTI in an interview here.

Singh alleged that the Congress-led UPA is in a state of “confusion” and is acting against terrorism with its vote-bank considerations.

“Congress and UPA is in a state of confusion and indecisiveness whether to act against the terror outfits or to protect their vote-bank at the cost of the nation,” Singh said.

The saffron party feels that the use of terms like “Hindu terror” would boomerang on Congress and it would benefit the BJP candidates in the assembly and Lok Sabha (Lower House) polls.

“BJP is confident that the talk would boomerang on Congress and it would cost it dear during the assembly and the Lok Sabha polls. The majority community has a feeling of insult which would surely reflect in their voting pattern,” he said.

On being asked if the party would use the arrest of Sadhvi Pragya Thakur as a part of its election campaign against the Congress, Singh said they have “better issues.” “No, this is not an issue for our party. We have better issues like the development in the states ruled by our party. We have the issue of price rise and failure of internal security situation,” he said.
