By TwoCircles.net staff reporter,

Kanpur: Although there hasn’t been substantial progress in the investigation of the Kanpur blasts of August 24, 2008, Kanpur Police has expressed the possibility of conducting the narco test of Sunil and Subodh who are allegedly friends of Bhupender Singh.

Bhupender Singh, a VHP activist, was one of the two persons killed in the bomb explosion in Kanpur on.

SSP A. K. Singh told mediapersons that the duo were involved in the 1992 communal riots post-Babri Masjid demolition. Bhupender was involved in the riots, told the SSP. He was associated with VHP, and was its city chief 10 years ago.

SSP further told that Sunil and Subodh can provide valuable information regarding the Kanpur explosion.

Bhupender Singh and Piyush Mishra were killed in a private hostel in Kanpur on August 24, 2008 while making bombs. Police recovered a big amount of explosive materials including some bombs, Lead Oxide, Potassium Nitrate which are used in making bombs of higher quality.

Post-Kanpur explosion, social and human rights organizations across the country including Muslim organizations have pointed out that this blast and some blasts of the past like the Nanded blasts, which the police “covered up,” clearly show that the Hindutva organizations are involved in terror activities.

They have demanded an impartial enquiry into the explosion and to widen the scope of the investigation they have demanded that all the Hindutva organizations like RSS and its offshoots, Shiv Sena and VHP and others are also brought into the ambit of probe.

They also demanded to include all the past blasts occurred in the country in the scope of investigation. Some of them also demanded banning the Hindutva groups notably VHP and Bajrang Dal.
