New York : Swiss tennis star Roger Federer entered his fifth straight men’s singles final at the US Open, beating an impending storm and Serb Novak Djokovic 6-3, 5-7, 7-5, 6-2 here Saturday.
Former world number one Federer is a victory away from his fifth US and 13th Grand Slam title. He extended his run of victories at Flushing Meadows as he made to his 13th final in the last 14 majors. Federer, who lost to Djokovic in the Australian Open semis in January, upped the tempo in the last two sets after dropping the second.
In the fourth set he served four aces in the sixth game and another one in the eight to completely bamboozle Djokovic. In all, he served 20 aces in the match in which he clearly looked the better player.
