Beirut : Hezbollah Shiite Chief Hasan Nasrallah stressed on his openness to the Sunni al- Moustaqbal Movement and to all Sunni in Lebanon, renewing his call for national dialogue as soon as possible, local Daily Star reported Monday.
Nasrallah’s remarks were made in a televised speech Sunday night during an Iftar banquet.
“Let us sit and talk without any preconditions,” Nasrallah said.
He expressed his readiness to meet any leader who would represent the Sunni in order to end the tension.
“We are open to al-Moustakbal movement, Dar al Fatwa (the Sunni religious seat) and all Sunnis,” he added.
The Shiite leader called on the Lebanese people to “refrain from fanatic support of any political figure or party.”
In a remark to the efforts by Sunni leader Saad Hariri’s reconciliation in north Lebanon, Nasrallah said he supports “everyone who contributes to bring peace to the north.”
Shiite Hezbollah-led opposition fought fierce battles in Beirut last May with Sunni supporters of al-Moustakbal movement, headed by Saad Hariri.
The fighting ended after an accord was signed by Lebanese leaders in the Qatari capital Doha on May 21.
