Kathmandu : The two people wrongly arrested by Nepali police suspected to be involved in Mumbai blasts, were to be sent back by India, local leading news website THT Online reported Tuesday.
A Mumbai court has established that the two people who had been nabbed in Kathmandu last Thursday were not the accused in the March 1993 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai, India.
The Mumbai blasts of 1993 killed over 250 people, injured more than 700.
Special Judge UD Mulla of the designated court under Terrorists and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act in Mumbai has ordered the India’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to send back the arrested duo to Nepal, according to the report.
The two are Ashfaq Ahmed (instead of Ashfaq Ahmed Shah) and Riyaz Lone (instead of Riyaz Khatri). Ashfaq Ahmed Shah and Riyaz Khatri are in a high priority Interpol red-corner notice, believed to be involved in Mumbai serial blasts.
Nepal Police have arrested the two persons, accusing them of involvement in Mumbai bomb blasts of 1993 from Kathmandu and on last Friday handed them over to the Indian government via the Indian embassy.
