New Delhi : A 25-year-old woman employee of a call centre was Wednesday evening found strangled to death in her hostel room in south Delhi, the police said.
The victim, identified as Shalini Saxena, was found dead in her first-floor room of a private hostel in Gautam Nagar area of Hauz Khas, the police said.
Saxena worked for a cell centre in Gurgaon. She hailed from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and was living in the hostel for the past one year.
The police said the wire of a mobile phone charger was wrapped around her neck and she was lying on the bed. Her body has been sent for a post-mortem examination at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
“Entry in her room appeared to be friendly. It could be an inside job, somebody who knew about her daily life. We are interrogating people to find clues,” said a police official.
