Supreme Court cancels Ansal brothers’ bail

By IANS,

New Delhi : The Supreme Court Wednesday cancelled the bail granted to property developer-brothers Gopal and Sushil Ansal, convicted for their role in the June 1997 Uphaar cinema hall fire tragedy here.

A bench of Justice B.N. Agrawal and Justice G.S. Singhvi said “the trial court had committed blunder” in granting bail to the Ansal brothers and others while the trial was on.

It ordered them all to surrender before the trial court at the Patiala House by 4 p.m. Thursday.
