Post blasts, now hoax calls

By IANS,

New Delhi : Delhi Police Monday received two hoax calls about bombs in two busy commercial buildings creating panic among the people Monday, two days after serial blasts rocked the capital killing 23 and injuring nearly 100.

The first call was recieved at 8.15 a.m. by an anonymous caller threatening to blow up the multi-storeyed New Delhi House at Barakhambha Road in Connaught Place, where a bomb explosion killed three people Saturday.

“The office of Rashtriya Sahara (a Hindi daily) received a call claiming a bomb was planted in the building. Immediately the bomb disposal squad reached the spot and the building was evacuated,” a police official said.

The building houses offices of a news channel, national banks and various travel agencies besides the office of the Hindi daily.

“The call was declared hoax after a search of the building premises,” the official added.

Another bomb scare was made at Ansal Tower, a busy shopping complex in Rajouri Garden in West Delhi. The police and bomb disposal squad reached the spot but found nothing.

Two hoax calls were received from Madhuban Chowk and Paschim Vihar Sunday.
