Cairo : Al Qaeda media producer as-Sahab released Friday a new six-minute video which features an audio statement by Al Qaeda’s second-in-command Ayman al-Zawahiri about a rockslide tragedy that occurred in Egypt earlier this month.
In “Condolences to Our People in Duweiqa”, al-Zawahri offers his condolences to the victims of a fatal rockslide in Cairo that has killed at least 103 people Sep 6.
Al-Zawahri, an Egyptian who is believed to be somewhere along the Afghan-Pakistan border with the terrorist network Al Qaeda, often releases video tapes about current events in the world.
As-Sahab has also released the full version of its 9-11 anniversary video entitled, “Results of Seven Years of Crusades”.
The 87-minutes video is the same from which brief excerpts were aired Sep 8 on the Doha-based al-Jazeera news channel.
The video has English subtitles and features al-Zawahiri, Mustafa Abu al-Yazid and Abu Yahya al-Libi. It also features the last will of 9-11 hijacker Ahmed al-Ghamdi who was on Flight 175 that crashed into the World Trade Center.
