Madhya Pradesh to set up child rights commission

Bhopal : The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to set up a commission to ensure protection of child rights in the state, officials said Wednesday.

The decision to set up the State Child Rights Protection Commission was taken at a cabinet meet headed by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here late Tuesday, an official said.

The proposed commission would help generate an atmosphere conducive to the all-round development of children.

Apart from a chairperson, the body will have six members, including at least two women, appointed by the government.
