‘Masterminds’ killed or detained, yet blast rocks Delhi

New Delhi: Two weeks after the Delhi serial bombings and one week after the alleged masterminds of the Delhi and other blasts in the country were killed in Jamia Nagar police encounter, Delhi again was rocked today by a bomb explosion in a crowded Mehrauli market.

In the bomb explosion five persons were reportedly killed and 50 injured. The blast took place at 2.15 pm. According to media reports, the blast occurred near an electric hardware shop in flower market. It is said that the bomb was placed in a tiffin box.

What is noteworthy is that around 9 pm on September 25 a bomb exploded while two persons were carrying it on a scooter in the same Mehrauli area. One person on the scooter was killed on the spot and other was injured. But the news about the explosion was completely ignored by the media and undermined by the police.

Addressing a rally called by the Coordination Committee of Indian Muslims at Jantar Mantar on September 26, Syed Ahmad Bukhari, Shahi Imam of Delhi’s Jama Masjid, told the people about the incident. “Last night in Mehrauli near Qutub Minar two youths were carrying bombs. The bomb exploded and the body of one youth was ripped apart. The media did not highlight the issue and police also ignored it,” said the Imam.

He said he talked to Delhi Police and wanted to know about the explosion. The Police told the Imam that it was a case of eveteasing in which the people involved fired shots.

He wondered why the police did not disclose about the two terrorists who were carrying bomb. He said some people head the explosion. When they came out they saw body of one youth ripped through and other seriously injured.

The question is: who are the two persons who were carrying bomb on the night of September 25? Had they planned to explode bombs at two places?
