London : US President Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitri Medvedev agreed Wednesday to draw up a new deal on nuclear disarmament.
The leaders issued a joint statement after meeting in London for the first time since Obama’s inauguration Jan 20.
The deal paves the way to replace a US-Russian strategic weapons reduction programme which expires at the end of 2009.
Obama and Medvedev are here to attend the Group of 20 (G20) summit of world leaders April 2.
