Mumbai : Indian equities markets, which soared in the morning session, held on to their gains Thursday afternoon. About 90 minutes before the closing bell, a key index was ruling 5.09 percent higher.
The 30-scrip Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) sensitive index (Sensex), which opened at 10,107.25 points, was trading at 10,406 points – a rise of 504.2 points or 5.09 percent from Thursday’s close.
Similarly, the S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) gained 5.12 percent to rule at 3,217 points.
The BSE midcap index was ruling 4.24 percent higher, while the BSE smallcap index was up 3.51 percent.
