Throwing a shoe is not the way to vent anger: Karat

By IANS,

Thiruvananthapuram : Responding to a journalist hurling a shoe at Home Minister P. Chidambaram in Delhi over the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) general secretary Prakash Karat said Tuesday there were other ways to vent anger.

“There is a general anger in the exoneration of a Congress candidate contesting from Delhi over the anti-Sikh riots. But then there are other ways of venting feelings by journalist,” Karat, who is here to take part in the election campaign for his party, told journalists.

A journalist threw a shoe at Home Minister P. Chidambaram at a press conference in New Delhi to express his “anguish” at Congress leader Jagdish Tytler being given a clean chit by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a case dealing with the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
