New Delhi: The Rajasthan police recently found enough evidence leading to the involvement of members of Hindu extremist group Abhinav Bharat in the October 2007 Ajmer Dargah blasts. Several members of the group have already been charge sheeted in the September 2008 Malegaon blasts.
Media reports say a special team of the state police had recently visited Mumbai to collect full statements and reports of narco-analysis and brain mapping tests done on Lt Col Prasad Purohit and other accused in the Malegaon blast cases. The team reportedly found that Purohit, an alleged mastermind of the Hindu extremist group, had told local investigators during narco-analysis and brain mapping tests that Abhinav member Dayanand Pandey, who is also an accused in the Malegaon blast, had planned the Ajmer blast.
The Rajasthan police now are zeroing in the call detail records in and around the blast site to see if any of the Abhinav members was present there at the time of the blast.
In the October 11, 2007 blast in the dargah of the Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer, two people were killed and 17 injured. The bomb went off soon after Iftar in Ramazan when about 5,000 people were present in and around the Dargah.
