Tehran : Iran’s Army is a symbol of the country’s defensive power and strength, Minister of Defense Brigadier General Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar said on Monday.
The minister made the remarks in a meeting with Army’s elite officers.
“A vigilant defense requires technological innovations which would support a country’s sovereignty at its air, ground and sea borders,” Mohammad-Najjar said, stressing that a vigilant defense should also be based on a precise knowledge.
He stressed the need for further strengthening of Iran’s armed forces’ scientific and research capabilities to boost the national defensive power.
The brigadier general also congratulated Iranians, in advance, on the occasion of the National Army Day which is to be celebrated on April 18 nationwide.
He said that the courageous forces of Iran’s Army demonstrated their outstanding bravery during the eight years of war imposed on Iran by Iraq’s toppled dictator Saddam Hussein from 1980-1988.
