Sonia hits out at BJP, Samajwadi Party

By IANS,

Lucknow : Congress president Sonia Gandhi Sunday attacked former ally Samajwadi Party, calling it a changeling, and also targetted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its promise to establish a Ram Rajya if voted to power.

“The Samajwadi Party is such a party that befriends someone at one moment and then becomes its enemy in the next moment,” Gandhi told an election rally here.

The Samajwadi Party had last year come forward to support the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government. However, the two parties could not arrive at a seat-sharing agreement for Uttar Pradesh.

Criticising the BJP’s concept of an ideal state – ‘Ram Rajya’, Gandhi said: “A true Ram Rajya is one in which there is no discrimination, no hatred and no clashes. It’s a peaceful place where there is justice, equality and security for all.”
