Bhopal: The Registrar of Aligarh Muslim University, (AMU), Prof. V. K. Abdul Jaleel has said that the Union Ministry of HRD has issued a notice to the University to provide facts for the perusal of the visitor, who is President of India, in regard to the conflicting representations made against the Vice Chancellor Prof. P. K. Abdul Aziz and the counter allegations made against some Executive Council members.

According to Dr. Rahat Abrar, AMU’s Public Relations officer, Prof. Jaleel said that in order to comply with the notice, he has directed all the concerned offices of the University to immediately provide the necessary information and documents so that the same could be incorporated as part of University representation to the Visitor and forwarded within time.

The visitor of the University is satisfied that conflicting representations were received in regard to the situation prevalent in the AMU Campus and has invoked sub section (2) of Section 13 of the AMU Act that confers on the Visitor the right to cause an enquiry to be made in respect of any matter connected with the administration or finances of the University.

AMU registrar has said that the allegations made against the Vice Chancellor Prof. Abdul Aziz are baseless as all administrative actions and financial transactions were strictly in conformity with the Act and Statutes of the University. The counter allegations against some of the executive council members will also be probed and the facts will be forwarded to the ministry of HRD. ([email protected])
