‘NCC makes AMU VC a ‘Colonel’

Bhopal: The directorate general, National Cadet Corps, ministry of defense, (NCC), government of India has decided to bestow upon Prof. P. K. Abdul Aziz, vice chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, the honorary rank of “Colonel” in the NCC.

According to Dr. Rahat Abrar, AMU Public Relations Officer, Lt. general Prakash S. Chaudhary, director general of the NCC, informed the AMU vice chancellor that in the armed forces, the colonel of regiment is an honour normally conferred upon distinguished and very senior officers and hoped that this appointment will bring you in still close contact with the NCC units in your University and enable you to interact with officers and cadets to help and guide them to uphold the idea of the NCC.
