New Indian Foreign Secretary takes charge of dealing with Pakistan

New Delhi : The new Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao has revamped Ministry of External Affairs and took charge of dealing with neighbouring countries including Pakistan.

Two days after assuming the charge, the Foreign Secretary has distributed work among her secretaries while retaining herself the crucial charge of neighbouring countries including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan, Hindustan Times quoting an official said.

She will also deal with P-5 countries including US, Russia, France, UK and China.

Parbati Sen Vyas will handle India’s economic diplomacy. Previously a Special Secretary, Vyas has been promoted to the rank of Secretary.
