Malappuram: Five people accused in the Kashmir terror case were presented in the Thalasseri Additional First Class Judicial Magisterate Court yesterday. The men, being accused in the Bangalore blast case, were in a Bangalore jail.
The five are Abdul Jaleel, Mujeeb, Badarudheen, Abdul Jabbar alias Sathar and Sarfras Navas. However, the chargesheet of Sarfras Navas has not been submitted yet. So his trial procedures have not yet begun.
The cases of all but Sarfras Navas were transferred to the Sessions Court. Even though the Court had ordered to produce Sainudheen alias Sathar Bhai, another accused, he could not be brought since he was under remand in connection with the Ahmedabad blasts in Gujarat. N Raghunath, Magisterate, has issued a production warrant asking to produce them in court.
Four people from Kerala were, reportedly, killed and another one injured in encounters with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir in October 2008. An enquiry into the matter resulted in the registering of a case against 23 people under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The 23 people were accused of several charges ranging from indulging in terrorist activities in the state and recruiting youth for terrorist activities to warring against the country. Among them seven are in jail in Kannur.
Police investigation into the alleged conspiracy to recruit youths from Kerala into terrorist organizations found Thadiyantavide Naseer as the mastermind behind this. He is the third accused in the case and has not been arrested yet, as he is absconding. The police also said that the Noorisha Thareeqath based in Hyderabad was used by the accused as a platform for recruitments.
Four accused in the case are those reported to be killed in the encounter in Kashmir – Fayas, Fayis, Abdul Raheem and Muhammed Yasin alias Roy Mon Varghese.
