Kerala’s agriculture awards for CM Muhammed and Danish Majeed

Kozhikode: CM Muhammed of Malappuram and Danish Majeed of Kozhikode have been selected for two of around 10 of the agriculture awards instituted by the Kerala stat government. The awards are distributed each year for excellent performances in the field of agriculture.

CM Muhammed has been selected for the Karshakothama Award for excellence in the field of agriculture. The award comprises of Rs 1 lakh, memento, medal and certificate. Muhammed hails from Tirur in Malappuram district. He has been in the field of agriculture for the past 35 years. He cultivates four acres of land.

The consolation prize under the Ksheeradhara Award for the best cattle-farmer was won by Danish Majeed, a student of +2 at Kakkattil in Kozhikode. The award consists of Rs 10, 000. Danish has 20 cows, four calves and a buffalo, some of which provide 35 litres of milk daily. He uses a machine for milking the cattle as well as mist sprayer and music system in the cattle-shed. Danish earns an annual profit of around Rs 4 lakhs from his cattle breeding.
