Ghaziabad : Ghaziabad Police claimed to have busted a gang of robbers with the arrest of three people. They recovered from the arrested men Rs.7 lakh in cash, jewellery worth Rs.4 lakh, and weapons.
On Sunday, police raided the hideout of the robbers at Nehru Nagar III in Ghaziabad and arrested the three men identified as Suresh, Binder alias Ravinder and Surender, all of them residents of Meerut. The leader of the gang Chaman is absconding, police said.
The police recovered Rs.7 lakh in cash, jewellery worth Rs.4 lakh, three pistols and a van from their possession.
“With the recovery of cash and jewellery, the moral and financial backbone of the gang has been broken but to smash the gang totally, a reward of Rs.20,000 on Chaman is under process,” Senior Superintendent of Police Akhil Kumar said.
