New Delhi : Union Minister of State for Home affairs Ajay Maken Tuesday visited areas in south Delhi to take stock of the civic infrastructure in the wake of reports that a few colonies had been inundated by the rains in the past couple of days.
Maken, who was accompanied by officials of civic authorities like Delhi Jal Board (DJB) and the Public Works Department (PWD), interacted with residents of the areas. He then instructed officials to redress people’s complaints and set the problems right within a fixed time-frame.
Several areas in south Delhi had been inundated during heavy rainfall this monsoon due to poor basic amenities. Apart from trees and branches being felled in the storm, the flooding often led to traffic snarls as well, leading to chaos on the capital’s roads.
