Kolkata : A woman was detained at Eastern Railway’s Sealdah station Thursday for raising a false alarm about a bomb on the New Delhi-bound Rajdhani Express after it had just left.
Eastern Railway sources said after the train departed, the woman, aged around 35 and later identified as Manjushree, started shouting that a bomb had been kept in one of the AC 3-tier coaches of the train.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel took the woman for interrogation, while a message was sent to the train crew, who stopped the train at Dankuni station and alerted the passengers.
A RPF bomb squad and dog squad carried out a thorough check in all the coaches at Dankuni, but found nothing. The train resumed its journey for New Delhi station at 6.40 p.m.
