“The IGP will be referred queries during the departmental enquiry. He will be asked,” Deshpande said when asked if the IGP would be questioned as to how his son ended up driving his official car in the early hours Dec 5.
Singh’s son has already been charged under sections 297 and 337 of the Indian Penal Code for rash and negligent driving and causing hurt.
The vehicle, a Toyota Innova driven by Siddharth, was also carrying state Power Minister Aleixo Sequeira’s son Antonio and three other youngsters and they were heading towards a pub in Vasco, 35 km from here. Siddharth and Antonio had been hospitalised for 24 hours after the accident and were subsequently discharged.
