Patna: The Opposition party in Bihar Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has expressed concern over increase in the activities of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) in the state and accused Nitish Kumar Government of facilitating the communal organization in the otherwise peaceful state.
Senior RJD leaders Shakeel Ahmad Khan, Ram Kirpal Yadav and Ram Chander Purbe expressed their concerns on the increasing activities of RSS in Bihar and held Nitish administration responsible for it.
Addressing a press conference a day after the RSS rally at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on 25th December, Mr. Shakeel Ahmad Khan said: “RSS which masterminded the Babri Masjid demolition and all communal riots in the country has now adopted Bihar to promote communalism and fundamentalism which is an alarming bell for the peaceful environment of the state.”
“It is the place of communal harmony where Mahaveer and Makhdoom spread love and affection but whenever RSS activities increased here communal violence broke out which took many lives and ruined properties worth crores of rupees. Bhagalpur and Jamshedpur riots are its example in which RSS was found directly involved by the commissions set up after the riots. Now once again peace of the state has been put in danger as RSS is spreading poison against minority communities” he added.
While Ram Kripal Yadav opined that during the regime of RJD Muslims felt protected in Bihar, now they feel threatened. The true face of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who has welcomed the RSS men in his cabinet with open arms is now exposed.
It should be recalled here that in October this year a three-day executive committee meeting of RSS was held at the Saraswati Vidya Mandir in Rajgir about 110 km from the state capital Patna. It was the first-ever national meeting that RSS held in the state since its establishment. After the meeting Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat visited many places of the state where he addressed gatherings during which he passed remarks against the minority community.
This time the state capital was selected to show the strength of RSS as thousands of lathi-wielding Swayamsewaks in their khaki-white uniform and black caps gathered in Gandhi Maidan on Friday.
During the rally RSS chief said that no one is Minority in the country except Jews and Parsis. He termed the inclusion of Muslims in minorities as an appeasement. He also blamed that there are many Bangladeshi infiltrators in the state whose deportation is not an easy work.
A number of BJP ministers in Bihar government including Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Nand Kishore Yadav, Ashwani Kumar Choubey, Giriraj Singh and Ram Narain Mandal, BJP state chief Radha Mohan Singh and several MLAs also came in RSS uniform to attend the event.
