I have nothing to add, will speak to Krishna: Tharoor

By IANS,

New Delhi : Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor, who was pulled up for his remarks questioning the country’s visa regulations on social networking site Twitter, Tuesday said he had nothing to add after the statement by his senior minister but said he would discuss the issue with him.

“(I) Was travelling out of range & (and) missed brouhaha,” Tharoor, who is currently on a holiday in Rajasthan, posted on his Twitter account Tuesday.

“Now that EAM (External Affairs Minister) Krishna-ji (S.M. Krishna), whom I respect, has spoken. I hv (have) nothing 2 (to) add. (I) Will discuss visa issue w (with) him,” he added.

Tharoor was again in the news for airing on Twitter his opposition to the new visa rules that were implemented after terror suspects in US custody were found to have visited India on a valid long-term visa for allegedly surveying locations before the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna had Monday disapproved of his junior minister Shashi Tharoor airing his differences with government policy in public. “If there are any perceptions, they should be sorted out within the four walls of the two ministries,” he had said.

Tharoor, however, acknowledged the support he has got from Twitter users.

“But thanks for all the kind words over the last 24 hours. Appreciate the support!” he posted.
