KABUL : United Nations Secretary General (SG) Ban Ki-moon arrived in Kabul Wednesday to assess the situation in the war-battered country.
The secretary general, who is sit to visit the neighbouring Pakistan during the second leg of his tour to South Asia, will meet President Hamid Karzai and discuss with him security situation and reconstruction activities in Afghanistan.
Officials here said Ban Ki-moon would also meet members of the Afghan parliament during his stay in Kabul. The visit is the second by Ban Ki-moon since taking charge of the world’s top body in 2006. (end) gk.ema KUNA 041309 Feb 09NNNN
