GAZA : Israeli war planes launched last night and early Saturday morning air strikes targeting several areas in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
Witnesses said that f-16 fighter jets and Apache helicopters launched more than 15 sorties during a raid against the southern and eastern parts of the border city.
The witnesses added the Israeli missiles inflicted damage to tunnels area south of the city without causing casualties.
The Israeli bombardment also targeted Salaheddin Gate, Qeshta, Al-Shaer and Jaradat areas, a matter that forced their residents to evacuate thier homes for fear of their lives.
According to local radio stations in Gaza, Israeli helicopters fired missiles and machine guns early today at a group of resistance fighters were near the Rafah border crossing with Egypt.
