Three killed as bridge under construction collapses in Bihar

Patna : Three people were killed and four injured Monday when a buiridge under construction over a rail line collapsed in Bihar, an official said.

The incident took place at Amgola in Muzaffarpur district, about 70 km from here.

The three people died on the spot as the bridge collapses all of a sudden. Police fear some more people may be trapped under the debris.

The bridge was being built by Indian Railway Construction Corporation (IRCON), which announced a compensation of Rs.200,000 each to families of those dead and Rs.150,000 each to those injured.

Local residents protested the incident and blocked the rail line. They also set ablaze a generator set of IRCON.
