Tehran : The Majlis Joint Commission here on Tuesday ratified the general outlines of the next year budget bill, an MP said on Tuesday.
Mohammad-Mehdi Mofatteh, Rapporteur of the Majlis Joint Commission, told reporters that the bill was ratified by 33 votes out of 43 MPs present at the commission.
According to the Majlis internal by-law, after receiving the budget bill, the MPs have 10 days to present their proposals to the parliamentary specialized commissions. The commissions then review the bill in 15 days and submit their reports to the Joint Commission.
The Joint Commission also has 15 days to submit its final report.
The rial-890,000-billion budget bill for the next Iranian calendar year (to start on March 21) was presented to the Majlis by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on January 27.
While submitting the bill, the Iranian president briefed the parliamentarians on the general outlines of the bill and its orientation.
Addressing the Majlis session, the president stressed that completion of semi-finished projects and creating appropriate structures for investment and production are the main characteristics of the 1388 budget bill.
