Kolkata : Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly’s wife Dona said Tuesday that her husband will make a good political leader, but he is not keen to take up politics for now.
“Ganguly has all leadership qualities and he will make a very good political leader. But I don’t think he is keen about joining politics despite so many offers,” Dona told reporters on the sidelines of her dance performance here.
Dona said Ganguly had offers not only from West Bengal’s ruling Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) but also from the Samajwadi Party. “The CPI-M government wants Ganguly to join their party.”
Dona said the final decision would be made by Ganguly.
“I personally feel there is no harm in joining politics and Ganguly can fight from West Bengal, if not other states. However, it is completely his decision. I can’t impose my opinion on him,” she said.
