I salute Hemant Karkare for Malegaon probe which cleaned the image of Muslims who alone were blamed for terrorism. Government has not been fair in probing terror attacks as it blamed only Muslims for it, says Maulana Badruddin Ajmal talking to Mumtaz Alam Falahi of TwoCircles.net.
Excerpts of the interview:
* It is great concerning that terrorism is on rise in India. It is also concerning that terrorism is being attached to Islam and the Muslim community. Rather than fairly probing terror attacks and nab real culprits the government agencies have been targeting Muslim community for every terror attack.
* Islam has nothing to do with terrorism but we cannot say no Muslim in India is involved in terrorism. Terrorists should be dealt with just as terrorists not as Hindu terrorists or Muslim terrorists. If some individuals are involved in terrorism we cannot blame the entire community or their religion.
* Malegaon blast probe, however, has exposed the face of Hindu terrorism. This has proved that terrorism has nothing to do with religion. The government should be honest in terror probes.
* I salute Hemant Karkare who was killed during the Mumbai attack. I salute him because he with his Malegaon probe cleaned the image of Muslims who were solely blamed for terrorism. He exposed that terrorists can be from other community also.
* The perpetrators of Mumbai attacks have done the most heinous crime. Whoever has done it, whether Pakistan or anyone else, must be condemned. Muslims in India are ready to take bullets on their chest to defend their motherland.
