Mumbai : The Indian equities markets extended their gains during afternoon trade with a key index rising 1.24 percent up Friday from its previous close, and crossing the psychologically important 10,000-mark an hour before shutting shop for the day.
The sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) was up 1.24 percent or 122.57 points and was at 10,026.03 points after opening higher than its previous close of 9,903.46 points.
The broader S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was trading at 3,070.75 points.
