Markets rise marginally in early trade

Mumbai : Indian equities markets opened lower Tuesday but rose marginally higher in the opening minutes, with a key index gaining 0.25 percent over its previous close.

About 15 minutes into trading, the sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) was at 10,301.52 points, a rise of 25.92 points or 0.25 percent from its previous close of 10,275.60 points. It had opened at 10,258.38.

The broader S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was at 3,125.45 points at the same time, about 0.13 percent higher than Monday’s close.

Other market indices like the BSE midcap and small cap indices were also trading higher than Monday’s close.
