Gaza : Israel air raids on Gaza and its vicinity mount along psychological warfare to intimidate the people but UN decision to resume relief operations brought some ease.
The aviation and artillery hit more than 40 targets in south and NE Gaza, being the bloodiest nine fatal victims from the same family, including two children and two women, shot by a tank while sitting in the garden in Jebaliyah refugee camp.
The Air Force raided a downtown building that housed Western and foreign Arab journalists wounding a tenant.
Israel”s military command said ground troops killed Saturday 15 Hamas members in strong clashes in Gaza while the aviation wrecked 10 missile bases, an alleged arsenal, an anti-air missile battery and tunnels in Rafah.
Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said it shot at least four missiles that hit south Israel.
Palestinian sources say a woman died of multiple wounds caused by Israeli raids on Rafah where they have launched numerous bunker-busting missiles to destroy underground tunnels.
Tel Aviv claims Hamas uses the tunnels to smuggle weapons into Gaza but in fact they have helped thousands of Palestinians ease the supply shortage caused by the blockade.
Short after mid day, Israeli planes launched leaflets over the city calling the people to provide intelligence on Hamas” buildings and members as part of the psychological and intimidating drive started few days back.
They also encourage the people not to go in the street, relate to Hamas” leaders or go near their homes.
Global criticism has target Tel Aviv for shooting on purpose, among other, at civilians, UN agencies, schools, ambulances, mosques, houses, hospitals, universities and humanitarian caravans.
The death of 21 paramedics and the driver of a truck from the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) made the UN suspend all activities.
UNRWA sources said Saturday they will resume operations “ASAP” after getting “credible warrant” from Israeli military but did not deliver supplies Friday nor is scheduled for today.
Christopher Gunness, spokesman of the UNRWA, called unacceptable Israel”s raids of civilian vehicles, even during the alleged daily three-hour truce, exposing its 9,000 to 10,000 worker.
