Prof. Rashid Khan conferred Academic Excellence Award by anaesthesiologists

Delhi: Prof. Rashid M. Khan of Department of Anaesthesiology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh has been conferred upon the prestigious “Academic Excellence Award-2008” by the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists, Bhopal.

The Award was conferred during the recently concluded 56th Annual Conference of Indian Society of Anaestrhesiologists at Jodhpur (Rajasthan). The award carries a certificate, a medal and a cheque for Rupees Five Thousand.

The award is conferred every year to the anaesthesiologists who have rendered outstanding work in the field of anaesthesiology and critical care and have professional achievements during the last ten years.

Prof. Khan also coordinated the day long pre-conference National Airway Workshop and delivered the CME Guest Lecture on “Newer Supraglottic Airway Devices: A Review” in this conference.

Prof. Rashid M. Khan has fifty three research papers published in national and international journals out of which 28 papers are published in UK, USA and Canada alone. He has also delivered 49 guest lectures in national and regional conferences and has coordinated 5 National Difficult Airway Management Workshops at Pune, Bhubaneswar, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Bhopal.

Prof. Khan has the credit to author the lone book on Airway Management which
has seen 3 sell out editions.

Prof. Khan is presently working as Senior Specialist in National Trauma
Centre, Muscat (Sultanate of Oman).
