New Delhi : Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee Saturday congratulated Yuki Bhambri, who won the junior title at the Australian Open Tennis tournament in Melbourne.
“I am happy to know about Yuki Bhambri’s splendid victory in the juniors group of the prestigious Australian Open. It is indeed a great achievement and I hope it will encourage all Indians, including many promising players, to contribute purposively to country’s rising stature on the world map in times to come,” the speaker said in a statement here.
Yuki Saturday won the junior Grand Slam tennis title by outclassing German Alexandros-Ferdinandos Georgoudas 6-3, 6-1.
Top seeded Yuki stamped his authority in packing off Georgoudas in less than an hour – 57 minutes to be precise.
