Kochi: Muslim organisations in Kerala came up strongly against the order of the Delhi High Court legalizing homosexuality. They shared the common concern that homosexuality would ruin the social situation prevailing in the country.

The Delhi HC order is a challenge to humane values, moral thoughts and health science, said Kanthapuram AP Aboobaker Musliyar, national general secretary, Sunni Jam’iyathul Ulema. It will lead to grave diseases and social anarchy, he added.
The order legalizing homosexuality is a challenge to the human race and culture, said Dr. Hussain Madavoor, national general secretary, Indian Islahi Movement. History has proved that all societies that practiced homosexuality have been ruined, he added.

“Nowadays, the security of girls is a problem for the society. But once homosexuality enters the social structure, the safety of boys too will come up as a burden,” said Sheikh Muhammed Karakunnu, state assistant Amir, Jamaat-e-Islami. Homosexuality is actually a mental disorder resulting from a perverse culture, and needs medical treatment instead of legality. Above all, it is the sin that invited God’s greatest curse and punishment on earth, he added.

All organizations are concerned about the consequences that would be brought in the society if this ‘biologically unnatural’ system prevails in the society. The world is already suffering from deadly diseases like AIDS which will only be increased if homosexuality is allowed. And more than anything else their common concern rests in the future of humanity, the basic necessity for whose survival is the existence of family system.
