Hyundai Motor raises wages of factory workers

Chennai: The country’s second largest car maker Hyundai Motor India Thursday announced 21-24 percent wage hike for workers at its plant near here.

The three-year wage agreement is effective from April 1 this year, the company said.

It will benefit all permanent workers at the factory, numbering over 1,600.

The company claims Hyundai Motors workers are the highest paid in the Indian automobile sector.
