Mumbai : A key index of the Indian equities markets ended trade Friday 88 points higher than its previous close.
Till about 30 minutes before the close, it was ruling more than 200 points above the last closing figure.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 15,040.24 points, ended at 15,097.4 points (provisional) – 88.72 points or 0.59 percent above Thursday’s close.
The S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) closed at 4,583.7 points, a marginal gain of 0.24 percent.
However, broader market indices ended on the losing side, with the BSE midcap index shedding 0.83 percent and the BSE smallcap index losing 1.12 percent.
