New Delhi : One person was killed and 12 others were injured when a fire broke out in a paint factory here Sunday, police said.
The fire broke out after a boiler exploded in the paint factory in Okhla Phase II in south Delhi at 2 a.m.
“Thirteen people were injured in the incident and were rushed to the Safdarjung hospital. Of them, one person, who is yet to be identified, was pronounced dead in the hospital,” said a senior police officer.
According to fire officials, 23 fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
“The fire is under control and efforts are on to fully douse the flames. The factory is gutted in the fire and the flames also spread to nearby buildings causing heavy damage,” the official said.
