New Delhi: Four unemployed men have been arrested here for allegedly trying to obtain US visas on the basis of forged documents, police said Wednesday.
Sleuths of Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested Devender Singh, 34, Shyam Lal, 23, Ankur Nagpal, 19, and Amanpreet Singh, 27, on a complaint from the US Embassy here.
Fake documents, including income tax returns and property papers, were recovered from them, police said.
On June 2 the US embassy complained that the accused were attempting to obtain US visas by forging an invitation for the Lions’ Club annual meeting in Minnesota next month.
The four men were arrested June 5, police said.
