Mumbai : Indian equities markets continued their rally for the second consecutive day Wednesday, with a key index shutting shop 342 points above its last closing figure.
The benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, closed at 15,469.81 points, 342.81 points or 2.27 percent (provisional) higher than Tuesday’s close.
The Sensex closed off its day’s high after rising 453 points from its previous close.
Like Sensex, the S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) too closed in the green, gaining 2.32 percent to close at 4,656.35 points.
The broader market indices were also in the positive terrain, with the BSE midcap index ruling 1.69 percent higher, and the BSE smallcap index up 0.51 percent.
