IAS officer suspended for homosexual harassment

By IANS,

Bhopal : Gyaneshwar Patil, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer in this Madhya Pradesh capital, was Friday suspended and an inquiry was ordered against him after he was caught sexually assaulting his male secretary.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan told reporters that the officer was suspended and an inquiry was ordered to look into the matter.

Patil, the chief executive officer of the Bhopal district panchayat, was late Thursday caught by a group of mediapersons when he was allegedly indulging in sex act with his male secretary in the office wash-room.

“Patil has been sexually harassing me for a long time but I could not complain as I was afraid of losing my job,” the victim told mediapersons.

Patil has refuted the charge. “It is a conspiracy against me, hatched in association with some mediapersons,” he said.
