Maharashtra polls on April 16, 23 and 30

Mumbai : Maharashtra goes to the polls over three phases on April 16, 23 and 30 to elect its 48 representatives to the Lok Sabha. Voting for the two Lok Sabha constituencies in Goa will be held on April 23, the Election Commission announced Monday.

Voting for 13 seats in parts of eastern Maharashtra and surrounding regions shall be held on April 16.

The electorate will exercise its franchise in 25 seats spread across north Maharashtra, parts of Marathwada region and the coastal Konkan areas on April 23.

Mumbai, the country’s commercial capital and Thane – accounting for a total of 10 seats – shall go to polls on April 30.

Mumbai has six Lok Sabha seats, while Thane has four seats of the total 48 seats in Maharashtra.

Of these, 11 seats have been affected by the delimitation exercise in the state though the total number of seats in the state remains 48.

The counting of votes for the entire country will be on May 16.
