Kolkata : The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) Friday lodged a complaint with West Bengal’s chief electoral officer seeking action against the Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) for unleashing a provocative political campaign in the state.
In a letter to the Election Commission, state CPI-M secretary Biman Bose said the SUCI has unleashed an “anti-democratic and provocative campaign in the state”.
“In connection with their political programme on March 9, they are using very objectionable words in graffiti like ‘either accept the demand or shoot’. I don’t understand how a political party which participates in a democratic process can use such undemocratic words,” Bose said in the letter.
He demanded action against the party as it was a law and order issue. The CPI-M also sent two pictures of the wall writing to the Election Commission.
