New Delhi : Two members of a family were killed and two other critically injured in the capital when a speeding truck hit the motorcycle they were riding and then ran them over, police said Wednesday.
The victims were going to a relative’s house to attend a birthday party when the incident took place in Libaspur area of outer Delhi Tuesday night, a police officer said.
Santosh, 30, was driving the motorcycle while his wife Poonam, 26, and two sons Vineet, 7, and Luvkush, 5, were riding pillion.
“The truck hit the motorcycle from the side after which Santosh lost control over the bike and they fell on the ground. The truck ran over them killing Poonam and Luvkush on the spot while the other two were critically injured. The injured were rushed to a hospital,” the officer said.
The truck driver is absconding.
